What I actually do.
Discontinued, broken, or never sold on its own. I measure it, model it, and either send you the files or print the part and ship it.
02 Design for manufacture
Modeled around how it gets made and on what machine. Not drawn in a vacuum and thrown over the wall to whoever has to cut it.
03 Shop-ready documentation
Dimensioned drawings with real tolerances, so the quote you get back is a quote and not a question.
04 3D printing and STLs
I print and ship it, or send the STL and you run it. PETG or ABS, and TPU where it has to flex. Needs machining, waterjet, or casting? I route it and hand off clean files.

I’m a junior studying Industrial Technology at Iowa State. ADF Custom Parts is my business, Aasen Design & Fabrication, LLC, based in Ames.

What people ask first.
Is a printed part strong enough?
Depends where it lives. I print in PETG or ABS, and TPU where it has to flex. If it needs metal, I route it to machining, waterjet, or casting and hand off clean files. You’ll know which before you pay anything.
My part is worn out. Will you just copy the wear?
No. Part of the job is the judgment calls about worn surfaces and where to take datum, so the model is what the part should be.
Is there a minimum order?
No. One part is a normal job.
How long does it take?
Usually two to four days.
What do I get back?
Whatever you need: STEP, IGES, STL, DXF, a dimensioned PDF, or the finished part in hand.
What does it cost?
Quotes are free. Send a photo and I’ll come back with a price and a time frame.
